This major renovation of a 6,000 square foot high end retail space is located on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. The primary concept behind the design was the drama of the Fashion Runway. This sloping runway was inserted into the front of the store that is typically expressly created for static displays. By creating a display space that has the capacity to become a runway visible by passers by on the sidewalk or by VIP guests on the interior, the store is allowed to change from day to night and season to season, like the high-style but accessible clothing that the boutique represents. The project was completed in 2007. Clay Odom/POD collaborated with Matthew Hufft / HUFFT PROJECTS LLC of Kansas City in the design and development of this project.
